I am excited about this book. In our leadership development at Redeemer, we take all leaders-in-training through Dave Harvey’s “Am I Called: Discerning the Summons to Ministry.” In it, there is a section on heart ambition in which he teases out this idea of the distinction between a good, glorious ambition and a sinful, selfish ambition. Since first reading this wonderfully helpful booklet, I had been hoping that Harvey might expound more on this issue. Now he has. I can’t wait to read it. May we all like Paul make it our “ambition” to preach the Gospel (Romans 15:20) to the glory of God so that we might, like William Carey, “Expect great things from God” and “Attempt great things for God.”
