  2. I’m about 120 pages into this wonderful biography and the insight into the period has helped me better understand how Hitler could rise to power. I grew up in Germany and (as a child, an Army Brat) was oblivious to the evil that had been there. I am so inspired by the courage of Bonhoeffer. Expecting a stuffy study of a theologian, I find this a “page turner” that I can hardly put down. Get this book!
